Dear Search Committee Members:

It is my pleasure to write a letter of recommendation for my friend and colleague John Salzer. I have known John since he began his position of Associate Registrar at Kendall College in November, 1997. John has made the Registrar's Office at Kendall College an efficient and friendly place where faculty and students have access to correct information.

Since John arrived at Kendall, he has consistently done more than what has been asked of him. For example, he held workshops for faculty on such topics as "How to Use Excel" and "Advising Tips." John was invited [to] our faculty in-service as a featured speaker where he distributed to faculty personalized advising manuals that he had authored. John volunteered to serve as advisor to the two-year honor society, Phi Theta Kappa. He shouldered the responsibility for invitations, registration, and played an active role in the installation ceremony.

John has been very involved with the Early Childhood Education Program at Kendall and has served as our Certification Officer, a liaison between the State of Illinois and the Program. He verified institutional and State of Illinois requirements and prepared the documents for certification. Additionally, last year, when the Early Childhood Education Program was developing a curriculum library, John trained both the library staff and faculty on how to use a system that he developed to catalog unusual items such as puppets, games, percussion instruments, and art supplies.

Registration has been much easier since John's arrival on campus. He reorganized the system for fall registration, so that there is never a long wait for the students or a long day for the faculty.

I have no hesitation in recommending John Salzer to you. He is a responsible, intelligent, and loyal employee who is respected and admired by his colleagues. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions about this bright young man or Kendall College.

Sincerely,

Kathy M.

Coordinator of Early Childhood Education
